Ongoing Efforts to Ensure Accessibility on Our Website

We strive to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 (link opens a new window) as our guiding principle. These are internationally agreed-upon standards that cover a wide range of recommendations and best practices for making content more accessible. As we develop new pages and functionality for our website, all designs, code, and content entry practices are checked against these standards.

We continually test content and features for WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance and remediate issues as we can to meet these standards.

Accessibility Features On Our Website

The following is a list of items we have included in our website to improve its accessibility:

  • Our website design has a mobile-responsive version with appropriately sized tap-targets.
  • We use web fonts with appropriate minimum sizes.
  • Our website declares a language in the header.
  • We try to maintain that all images and other non-text elements have appropriate alternative text associated with them.
  • Forms are associated with labels and instructions on filling in forms are available, along with clearly understandable error states.
  • A warning is provided before links open in a new tab or window.

Known issues currently under investigation for resolution

  • Absence of “Skip-links” option at beginning of each page
  • Keyboard focus state on all actionable items
  • Keyboard navigation of main menu omits access to fly-out sub-menus.
